In the BalticMuseums 2.0 project, the consortium of six partners from Germany, Poland, Lithuania and Russia is jointly developing innovative technical information and communication tools for oceanographic museums. The project is estimated to run for three years starting in October 2008. The European co-financing of almost one million Euro was granted in July 2008.
The consortium of two universities and four oceanographic museums has realised a joint online ticketing system and is designing and realising a joint multi-lingual online platform as well as a ticketing system. Furthermore, developments for a future-oriented visitor guidance and information system have been undertaken. Upon completion of the project the attractiveness of the museums will have been increased, especially for international tourists. As the partner museums are a main tourist attraction in their respective regions, the project will contribute to each region's economic development. |
